The BILSTEIN Academy offers workshops and parts dealers active support for all questions relating to shock absorbers and suspension. But what does this support actually look like, and how can automotive professionals benefit from our offer? Rainer Popiol, head of the BILSTEIN ACADEMY, and Mustafa Yavuz, responsible for the technical support of workshops at BILSTEIN Technical Team, have the answers!

The experts at the BILSTEIN Academy support workshops and dealers with a wide range of services that are free of charge. These range from further training to support with specific problems and exciting tips from the field.

Two areas: preventive care and aftercare for motor vehicle technicians

“The BILSTEIN Academy is divided into two strong areas”, says Rainer Popiol: On the one hand, the Training & Education area, and on the other, Technical Support. “So on the one hand we have preventive care through our own further training, and on the other hand we have aftercare: if questions arise in the day-to-day running of the workshop or something goes wrong, the entire BILSTEIN Academy team are directly available for motor vehicle professionals with appropriate assistance”.

Workshop Tip #3: How automotive professionals benefit from BILSTEINs Academy

In-house training: know-how transfer directly in the workshop

In the area of training, the experts from the BILSTEIN Academy conduct free in-house training courses for workshops. The content ranges from shock absorber production to installation in the areas of series production, tuning and motor sports. All training courses consist of a theoretical part and, in the case of combined modules, an additional practical part. In addition to the topics of shock absorber installation, damage analysis, suspension diagnosis and BILSTEIN product innovations, participants in the BILSTEIN Academy can also expect exciting practical tips, factory tours and helpful hints for customer advice.

Virtual e-training courses: conveniently from your home

“We also offer our training courses as virtual e-training,” explains Rainer Popiol. “Our participants can choose where they want to attend the online training courses from. On the other side of the computer sits a virtually connected trainer who guides them through the programme and explains the most interesting tips within an hour. It is also important that the participants are actively involved in the training.” Rainer Popiol is convinced: “No matter whether it’s about active or semi-active systems, passive shock absorbers or air springs, we offer the right knowledge tailored to the needs of the workshop.”

BILSTEIN Academy E-Trainings

All courses take place in the virtual training rooms of the BILSTEIN Academy, which enable interactive distance learning at the latest level thanks to modern software. Draw from a pool of diverse topics and find the right training course for you!

On-Demand E-Training Courses

An exciting addition are the e-training courses that can be carried out completely independently, regardless of time and place: the learning units can be accessed “on-demand” around the clock. The time required is then only 20 to 30 minutes. Although the live experience and the direct exchange with the trainers are missing, we ensure that the individual modules can be completed comfortably during work breaks, at home after work or even during a train ride.

International training offer

Since BILSTEIN products are used all over the world, the BILSTEIN Academy is globally positioned. “With our international training bases in Germany, the USA, and China, we offer training everywhere in the world.”

Technical support: direct contact with suspension professionals

It is the direct contact with shock absorber and suspension professionals that makes the BILSTEIN Academy so successful. In particular, the short distances and face-to-face exchange in the area of technical support, as Mustafa Yavuz emphasizes. Workshop professionals can always contact us by e-mail or also by phone, even if the vehicle is on the lifting platform and information is needed quickly.

Partner for workshops and parts dealers worldwide

The BILSTEIN experts draw on valuable know-how from six decades of expertise in all aspects of shock absorbers and suspension systems. Not just in series replacement, but also in shock absorber original equipment and in top international motorsport. Whether it’s installation tips, specific solutions to problems or new technologies such as air spring modules and semi-active suspensions, the BILSTEIN Academy’s objective also includes passing on this knowledge to car workshops and dealers.
